Posted on November 9, 2012

UAF earned a 1-1 tie at Ohio State tonight in a CCHA game, though the home club gained the shootout advantage, 2-1 in six rounds.

John Keeney made 33 saves for the Nanooks, who are 4-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the CCHA.

Defenseman Colton Parayko bagged UAF's goal on the power play in the second period.

Ohio State tied the game on the opening shift of the third period, but could not get the go-ahead goal despite a power play for the last five minutes of regulation after UAF's Nolan Huysmans took a major penalty for checking from behind with 4:57 left in regulation. The Nanooks held the Buckeyes scoreless on eight power-play chances.
