Nice Saturday nights for Rapuzzi, Erik Cooper and Howes

Published: November 10, 2012

Just catching up quickly on a few Alaska connections who had strong nights on Saturday:

Colorado College senior captain William Rapuzzi of Anchorage racked two goals and two helpers in a 6-3 WCHA win over Bemidji State. That gives him 5-5--10 totals in 10 games, which puts him in a four-way tie for the team lead in points.

At the Division III level, St. Norbert freshman Erik Cooper of Anchorage had one goal and one assist in a 4-0 win over Wisconsin-River Falls. That gives Cooper 3-2--5 totals in seven games.

And in the pro Central Hockey League, former Alaska Aces winger Scott Howes bagged the game-winning, power-play strike in the third period for the Allen Americans in a 3-2 win at Quad City. With 7-2--9 totals in seven games, Howes, the 2011 ECHL Kelly Cup MVP for the Aces, is tied for third in the CHL in goals.
