Those who cite Ayn Rand’s “Atlas Shrugged” to support their right-wing political beliefs need the same reminder as Trekkies do regarding Star Trek — it’s fiction. Once Spock’s mind melds to the president’s I will re-examine that criticism.

Given the large overlap between the political right-wingers and fundamental Christian values and beliefs, I suspect many who tout its philosophy of unrestrained capitalism and amorality have either never read Ayn Rand or failed to comprehend her philosophy.
