Lane Bauer, who as a sophomore helped Dimond High to the state high school championship last season and currently is off to a blazing start as a junior, has committed to play at UAF, according to several recruiting sites.

The 5-foot-10, 173-pound Bauer already owns 8-8--16 totals in just five games this season after earning 23-25--48 totals in 26 games last season. He's ticketed to join UAF in 2014-15.

Meanwhile, UAA also has snagged a recruit. The Alberta Junior Hockey League reports forward Zack Russell, has committed to the Seawolves for next fall.

Russell, 20, a 6-foot-2, 195-pounder, leads the Canmore Eagles in scoring with 11-11--22 totals in 16 games. Last season in 41 games for Canmore, he earned 9-21--30 totals.
