***** SCAM ALERT *****

Just when you thought you had seen every permutation of the overseas FAX scam, someone comes up with a new one.  The attached scam was received on a FAX machine at Anchorage Police Headquarters.  The scammers claim to be working with the government of the United States and INTERPOL to address complaints from the FBI, London Metropolitan Police and security organizations from Asia, Europe, Oceania, and Antarctica.  They assert that they are authorized to assist the victims of scams.

Ms. Carman L. Lapointe, the alleged sender of the FAX, says she has $20.50 million dollars to send to the recipient of the FAX who was a victim of these scams.  All she needs is some personal information from the victim.

Anchorage Police Department again would like to warn residents not to respond, especially with personal information, to unsolicited offers of money or other things of value.
