Well said John Schandelmeier (“Let a 4-year-old girl learn to trap? You bet,” Nov. 20) and especially regarding the many things your daughter is learning from trapping Alaska’s great outdoors.

Wonderful to learn the way of the woods early in life as she will get plenty of time in front of a computer screen later.

And yes, far too many residents of our state have come that far from our roots or simply never had roots here in the first place.
