Former UAA skater Leinweber headed abroad

Posted on November 21, 2012

Former UAA winger/center/defenseman Curtis Leinweber is headed across the pond to join his former Seawolves teammate Jade Portwood.

Leinweber, who in four seasons at UAA did everything but tend goal, is headed to the Edinburgh Capitals in the Great Britain-based Elite Ice Hockey League.

In four years at UAA, he posted 19-32--51 totals in 122 games. Last season, he racked 9-8--17 totals in 33 games.

By coincidence, The Blog came across Leinweber a day ago and discovered he was playing AAA senior hockey in something called the Chinook Hockey League. He was playing for the Sylvan Lake Admirals and had one goal in three games. (More on that league in another blog entry later today -- The Blog typed, hopefully).

Portwood, by the way, owns 1-8--9 totals in 10 games for Edinburgh. which you sharp ones no doubt recognize as the capital of Scotland.
