ChiSox bring back Wise

Published: November 21, 2012

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with outfielder Dewayne Wise on a one-year, $700,000 contract.

Wise split time in 2012 with the White Sox and New York Yankees, batting .259 with career highs of eight homers, 30 runs batted in and 19 stolen bases in a combined 101 games.

The 34-year-old veteran signed with Chicago last August for his second stint with the franchise. He also played for the White Sox from 2008-09 and may best be remembered for making a catch at the wall to preserve Mark Buehrle's perfect game on July 23, 2009 against Tampa Bay.

Wise is a career .228 hitter with 30 homers and 112 RBI in 546 games over parts of 10 big league seasons with Toronto, Atlanta, Cincinnati, the White Sox, Marlins and Yankees.
