In the spirit of Thanksgiving Day feasts, I would like to suggest some wines. Let's start off with a bubble: The Dr. Loosen Sparkling Riesling is crisp, refreshing and not like any riesling you have ever had. Costs about $17. For me, turkey needs chardonnay, and Catena's high-altitude vineyard is hard to beat. The mid-palate is rich, with fleshy apple fruit and kissed with oak. Costs about $20. If you have to have a red, look for the Forefront Pinot Noir. The killer strawberry fruits and velvety rich textures are off the charts. This is a lighter pinot that will not run over the bird -- costs about $22. Have a safe and happy holiday season.
