49ers win first game at championships

The Eastside Anchorage 49ers youth football team won its opening game Thursday at the National Youth Football Championships' Western Division tournament in Las Vegas.

The 49ers beat the Chatsworth Chiefs of California 31-6 to remain undefeated. The team won the unlimited Pop Warner championship in Anchorage earlier this season, beating every team it played by 20 or more points.

The 49ers play again Saturday.
