UAF lives by shortie in regulation, dies by shortie in OT

Andy Taranto's short-handed goal for UAF with just 56 seconds left in regulation at Northern Michigan tonight pushed the Nanooks to overtime, where the Wildcats turned the tables.

Scott Macaulay scored short-handed 52 seconds into OT to lift Northern Michigan to a 4-3 CCHA victory.

UAF goaltender Steve Thompson of Anchorage made 14 saves.

The Nanooks (6-4-3, 4-3-2 CCHA) dropped one spot to fifth place in the 11-team league. Northern Michigan (5-6-2, 2-5-2 CCHA) moved up one spot to 10th place.
