Coming off Saturday night's 5-4 OT win in Utah to summon a series sweep, the Alaska Aces have played 18 games, which marks the one-quarter pole of the ECHL's 72-game regular season.
They are off to an excellent start at 13-5-0 (26 points), which ranks as the team's third-best start to this point of the season in its 10 ECHL seasons.
The standard bearer, of course, is the 2005-06 team, which through the first 18 games went 13-3-2 (28 points). Last season's club was second-best at 13-4-1 (27 points).
Worth noting that the Aces have never been below .500 at the quarter-pole.
Anyhow, here's where the Aces have sat each season after 18 games:
2012-13 -- 13-5-0 (26 points)
2011-12 -- 13-4-1 (27 points)
2010-11 -- 10-7-1 (21 points)
2009-10 -- 8-8-2 (18 points)
2008-09 -- 12-5-1 (25 points)
2007-08 -- 10-7-1 (21 points)
2006-07 -- 11-7-0 (22 points)
2005-06 -- 13-3-2 (28 points)
2004-05 -- 10-7-1 (21 points)
2003-04 -- 10-7-1 (21 points)
