Minnesota State-Mankato freshman goaltender Stephon Williams, a former Alaska Player of the Year in his days at Lathrop, has been named the WCHA's Rookie of the Week after picking up his first college victory and backstopping a series sweep at Wisconsin last weekend.

Williams picked up his first college win with 32 saves in a 4-2 victory last Friday, then backed that up with 33 saves in another 4-2 win Saturday.

For the season, he's 2-3-1 with a 2.46 goals-against average and .909 save percentage.
