Random notes (Former UAA winger Clark, UAF recruit, Petovello)

Published: November 28, 2012

Just a quick hit at the end of the night to keep things updated:

--Former UAA winger Kevin Clark, in his third season in the AHL, finally broke through for his first goal of the season, which doubled as his first point, tonight for the St. John's IceCaps, scoring at Adirondack in a 3-2 win. The strike came in Clark's 13th game of the season. Last season, he earned 12-19--31 totals in 72 games for St. John's, which is coached by former Alaska Aces bench boss Keith McCambridge.

--The UAF Nanooks have picked up a recruit in Joe Davies, a forward for the Humboldt Broncos who entered Wednesday leading the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in goals and points with 18-16--34 totals in 24 games. He's also tied for first on the circuit in power-play goals (6) and points (15). The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder -- his commitment was reported on both Chris Heisenberg's excellent recruiting site and on collegecommitments.com -- is a 20-year-old from Ontario.

--Former UAF captain Kevin Petovello, released recently by ECHL South Carolina, was signed by the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League. As a rookie last season, Petovello earned 13-15--28 totals in 44 games for Arizona. There, he will be reunited with former UAF teammate Ron Meyers, who Arizona signed after he was recently released by ECHL Idaho.
