ARCTIC SLOPE REGIONAL CORPORATION JOINS THE U.S. CHAMBER IN LAUNCHING THE NATIVE AMERICAN ENTERPRISE INITIATIVE

ASRC is pleased to announce that it has been selected to be a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Native American Enterprise Initiative’s Leadership Council. A press event was held this morning in Washington, D.C. to launch the new effort, aimed at focusing on economic issues facing Native American-owned enterprises. The Leadership Council will set the direction for the initiative by crafting a legislative agenda and determining the top priorities for advocacy.

“This puts Arctic Slope Regional Corporation in a position to guide and advance substantive pro-Native American business policies in Washington,” said Tara Sweeney, senior vice president of external affairs for ASRC. “We are excited to have a meaningful voice in the decision-making and advocacy process for Native American economic policy. The Leadership Council is comprised of a distinguished set of successful Native American Tribal enterprises and organizations.”

Some of the areas being targeted by the Native American Enterprise Initiative include: energy development, taxation and the EPA’s approach to Indian Country.
