Hickel Investment Co. has lent a strong hand to Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis with the donation of property at 619 East Fifth Ave. that will provide room to expand AWAIC’s job services, outreach and ability to accept and store donations.

This is an agency that provides women shelter and other practical help as they try to escape domestic violence for themselves and their children. A separate building for offices and donations will fortify AWAIC’s ability to help.

Roger Hickel Contracting will cover demolition of the current building as an in-kind donation. This is good work toward building a safer, stronger community.
