3 more locals have committed to Division I women's programs

Posted on December 8, 2012

Thanks to a heads-up from Cristy Hickel, an assistant coach in the Alaska All Stars competition program, we know three more local skaters have made commitments to Division I women's programs.

Defenseman Abby Gahm of Eagle River, who has played for the All Stars and Brewster Academy in New Hampshire in bound for Yale University next season.

Defenseman Katie Nokelby of Anchorage, who plays for the All Stars, will be off to Lindenwood University.

And Monica Elvin, who hails from California, but has basically commuted to Anchorage for the last few years (she attended Service High and graduated early, so, along with her years of playing here, we're gonna count her as one of ours) will be going to Brown University.
