Pedestrian killed Monday evening crossing Tudor in Midtown

Published: December 10, 2012

A pedestrian was killed just around 6:30 p.m. Monday while crossing Tudor Road at Wright Street, near a Holiday station and the Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission, a homeless shelter, Anchorage police said.

The man was in his 40s, Lt. Dave Parker, a police spokesman, said. He was hit in the eastbound lanes of traffic.

The driver of the vehicle that hit him stopped, and police investigators were just starting to collect information about what happened, the lieutenant said.

Officers shut down traffic in both directions on the busy Midtown road, Parker said.

Another pedestrian was hit in the same area Sunday but wasn't killed, he said.
