Anchorage Community Development Authority Purchases Property in Downtown Anchorage

Posted on December 12, 2012

On September 13, 2012, ACDA’s Board of Directors approved the purchase of Block 96, Lots 1, 2 & 3 located at the SW corner of 8th Ave & K Street.

The sale was closed on November 11, 2012. The site is a total of 21,000 SF. Two small buildings on the site have been demolished and the property will be held for future development. The property is adjacent to the MOA Department of Health and Human Services building. This proximity presents an enhanced opportunity for future re-development of the site.  ACDA is planning on opening the lots for downtown parking as an interim use.

“One of ACDA’s guiding principles is to be proactive in seeking opportunities that align with the adopted plans and initiatives of the Municipality.” said Ron Pollock, Executive Director of ACDA.
