Libbrecht to lead local chapter of the American Red Cross

Posted on December 12, 2012

American Red Cross of Alaska is pleased to introduce their new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Tanguy Libbrecht.

Libbrecht joins Red Cross from the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel, where he led award-winning sales teams as their Director of Sales & Marketing.

Libbrecht has served on several local boards and committees including the Boys & Girls Clubs, Anchorage Sister Cities Commission, Anchorage Youth Symphony, and Anchorage Mayor's Ball.

The candidate search began when Chapter CEO Michelle Houlihan moved to Denver for a national fundraising position with the American Red Cross after five years with the Alaska chapter.

“I am more than delighted to join the local Red Cross chapter,” said Mr. Libbrecht. “I look forward to working for our communities through such a worthwhile organization.”

Libbrecht was born in Brussels, Belgium, and was raised in the United States. He and his wife moved to Anchorage from Houston 18 years ago where they have raised a family of young Alaskans. Libbrecht

has worked closely with Alaskan communities statewide. His expertise will be an asset to the Chapter and Red Cross mission outreach and service delivery in Alaska.
