Aces trade Sinkewich to Gwinnett for forward Clackson

Published: December 13, 2012

Looks like today's "off day'' for the Alaska Aces wasn't precisely that for coach Rob Murray -- according to ECHL transactions, the Aces have traded defenseman Russ Sinkewich to the Gwinnett Gladiators for forward Chris Clackson.

The Aces, who have been ravaged by injuries, are particularly thin at forward right now. Center Nate Thompson was injured in Wednesday's 4-0 loss at Idaho, which left the club with just eight true forwards on a trip that continues with games Friday and Saturday at Utah.

Clackson in 23 games this season for Gwinnett put up 6-6--12 and +5 totals. He split last season between the AHL (29 combined games, 2-1--3 totals) and Gwinnett (10-13--23 totals in 31 games).

Sinkewich was in his third season with the Aces. In 23 games, he owned 0-4--4 and +5 totals.
