I think Raye Cufley has a great idea! (“Give prospective gun buyers a psychological evaluation first,” Letters, Dec. 21) 

This could be the first question on the psychological evaluation: “Do you think you need to own an assault weapon?” A “Yes” answer disqualifies you from buying any firearm. Great idea!
