Cavs' Varejao to miss next two games

Published: December 28, 2012

Cleveland Cavaliers forward/center Anderson Varejao will miss the next two games as he continues to battle a right knee contusion.

Varejao injured his knee on Dec. 18 against Toronto and has been out since. He is sitting out Friday's home game against the Atlanta Hawks and will not travel with the club for Saturday's contest in Brooklyn.

"Andy has been ruled out for tonight and tomorrow," Cleveland head coach Byron Scott said on Friday.

Through 25 games this season, the 30-year-old Brazilian is averaging a career- best 14.1 points per game to go with an NBA-best 14.4 rebounds per contest.
