The Builders and the Butchers to play Tap Root

Published: December 31, 2012

—

The Builders and the Butchers may have gotten their start in Portland, Ore., but the Alaska expats haven’t been strangers to Anchorage stages in recent years. While the band has gone from playing the UAA Student Union Café to headlining First Tap concerts at Bear Tooth, this time around the Builders are opting once again for a more intimate setting: two nights at Tap Root.

Hawkins Wright and the Super Saturated Sugar Strings will open the Feb. 8 show, while SJ and Drums and Orion Donicht open on Feb. 9. Both nights are $18 in advance, $22 at the door, but if the Builders’ Bear Tooth concert last year is any indication, I wouldn’t count on finding many tickets available at the door. You can purchase tickets at taprootalaska.com.

Below is a clip from the Builders and the Butchers at Bear Tooth in December 2011, after band wrapped its set, marched through the crowd and played in the lobby.
