Former UAA center Paul Crowder owns an ECHL hat trick in the opening seven minutes tonight

Published: January 5, 2013

Well, that's a pretty sweet start tonight for former UAA center Paul Crowder, who plays for the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers.

All he managed in the first 6:53 against the visiting Trenton Titans tonight was to rack a hat trick, including his second and third goals in a span of just 15 seconds.

By the way, this marks Crowder's first hat trick as a pro -- never had one before in 225 previous pro games (124 in the ECHL, 95 in the AHL and 6 in Austria). Tonight marks his third multiple-goal game this season and his seventh as a pro.

Crowder is hot of late -- the hat trick gives him nine goals in the last nine games. He owns 14 goals in 32 games this season. We'll update if he scores some more.
