Palmer takes title at Colony

Caleb Nielsen and Mason Cochran each earned individual victories Saturday to help the Palmer wrestling team win the Colony Invite, a two-day tournament at Colony High.

Palmer accumulated 192 points to outpace the second-place host Knights by 22. Service finished third with 158.5 points.

Neilsen's win came by decision in the 182-pound division, and Cochran also won by decision at 120 pounds.

South tops in North Pole

South turned back Wasilla to capture the team title Saturday at the John Tobin Invitational wrestling meet in North Pole.

The Wolverines produced seven individual champions while piling up 204.5 team points. Wasilla, which boasted five champions, totaled 183 points.
