Fairbanks news: Bishop up to AHL; Nanooks get recruit

Winger Hunter Bishop of Fairbanks, who has enjoyed a strong season for ECHL South Carolina, has moved up the ladder to AHL Lake Erie, which has signed him to a professional tryout agreement.

Bishop in 35 games for the South Carolina Stingrays delivered a team-high 15 goals, and his 31 points rank second on the team. He is also +6.

He owns 43 games of AHL experience, with 6-7--13 totals and a +12 rating.

Speaking of Fairbanks, UAF has landed another recruit, according to Chris Heisenberg's excellent recruiting site. On the way in the fall is forward Shawn Hochhausen of the BCHL's West Kelowna Warriors. The 6-1, 185-pounder owns 6-22--28 totals in 35 games. He's a 20-year-old.
