Bittner is new manager of BLM's Anchorage field office

The Bureau of Land Management appointed Alan Bittner manager of its Anchorage Field Office. Bittner joins the BLM-Alaska leadership team after previously serving as assistant field manager of the BLM Carson City, Nevada, office for four years. Prior to his Nevada service, he worked for over 15 years with the U.S. Forest Service and the BLM in Idaho. As Anchorage Field Manager, he now oversees 17 million acres of BLM-administered lands and resources in western, south-central, and southeast Alaska. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Cornerstone University of Michigan.
