Troopers arrest burglary suspects

— Two men were arrested but not before one of them took troopers on a foot race through the woods, Alaska State Troopers say.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported that troopers responded to a call late Tuesday after a burglary and assault at a Fairbanks home.

Troopers said 26-year-old Kyle Curtin and 33-year-old Cody Ladig are accused of breaking into a home and choking a 30-year-old man living there. They said the two stole a truck from the home but crashed it in a ditch and fled on foot.

Ladig was arrested but troopers said Curtin fled, eventually taking troopers on a chase through the woods.

He was caught but not until he lost both his shoes in deep snow. Troopers said he was treated for frostbite.
