Niners list Justin Smith probable

Published: January 11, 2013

The San Francisco 49ers are expected to have Pro Bowl defensive lineman Justin Smith available for Saturday's NFC Divisional Playoff showdown with the Green Bay Packers, with the team declaring the veteran standout probable on the final injury report.

Smith sat out San Francisco's final two regular-season contests with a reportedly partially torn triceps, but was able to practice on a limited basis throughout the week. The 33-year-old had never missed a game due to injury over his first 11 NFL seasons.

Smith was selected to his fourth straight Pro Bowl this season after accumulating 66 tackles and three sacks over 14 games.

The NFC West champion 49ers listed all 13 players on Friday's report as probable, a group that also includes linebackers Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman and Aldon Smith -- all of whom were mentioned with shoulder ailments. Safety Dashon Goldson (shoulder), cornerbacks Carlos Rogers (knee) and Tarell Brown (shoulder), guard Mike Iupati (shoulder) and fullback Bruce Miller (shoulder) are all probable as well.

San Francisco had an opening-round bye last week after earning the NFC's No. 2 seed with an 11-4-1 record.
