Aces get former Seawolves forward Peter Cartwright to lend a hand

Posted on January 12, 2013

The Blog sees Peter Cartwright of Anchorage, the former UAA forward, around the rink a bit these days -- he's doing video for the Seawolves.

Looks like we're gonna see him in an Alaska Aces sweater tonight. With Chris Clackson suspended from tonight's series finale with Ontario for a cross-checking major in Friday's 4-1 win -- Clackson has a hearing with the league next week -- the Aces have signed Cartwright, 28.

Best we can tell from a database is Cartwright apparently last played in 2010-11, when he was with the Dundee Stars in the Great Britain-based EIHL and racked 24-30--54 totals in 53 matches. He likely with be the third local fill-in in the lineup, joining former UAA forward Merit Waldrop and former UAA defenseman Brad Gorham, who have filled in repeatedly for the Aces during the injury crises that has pretty much been going on all season for the league leaders -- Gorham has played 10 games for the Aces and Waldrop has played seven.
