Commonwealth North's Annual Assets Review, noon-1:30 p.m., Dena'ina Convention Center. As shareholders in "Alaska Inc.," the citizens of Alaska need to be informed about how the assets of their company are performing. This Annual Assets Review will report on the value, income and prospects of Alaska's key assets. Our panel of the state's key asset managers will identify on what criteria they should be judged and identify emerging public policy issues related to the assets under their responsibility. This will also be Commonwealth North's annual membership meeting and will include the distribution of the annual report and the announcement of election results. Attorney Andrew Mitton will discuss LLCs and corporations, employment law, copyright and trademarks, leases, business acquisitions and other important legal topics for small business owners. The Alaska Stand Alone Gas Pipeline is the topic for the next meeting of the Resource Development Council, 7:30 a.m., Dena'ina Convention Center. Frank Richards, manager of pipeline engineering with the Alaska Gasline Development Corp., will speak. Cost is $22 for RDC members and $27 for non-members. Build Your Business with Social Media and Blogging, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Alaska Small Business Development Center, 430 W. Seventh Ave., Suite 110. This class, led by Cherilynn Stone, covers the "Ideal 5" social media marketing platforms including Facebook. There is an emphasis on utilizing blogs as your main website to drive traffic to and from other social media platforms. The class focuses on utilizing these platforms in an automated system that leverages your efforts, giving you online domination in your industry without the huge time commitment. $35.
