Former UAA winger Tommy Grant has been traded

Posted on January 16, 2013

Former UAA winger Tommy Grant, in his second season in the AHL, was traded today.

The San Jose Sharks acquired Grant, 26, and a conditional seventh-round draft choice from the New York Rangers for AHLer Brandon Mashinter.

Grant put up 9-7--16 totals in 34 games this season for AHL Connecticut and, after the trade, was assigned to AHL Worcester, where one of his new teammates will be erstwhile Alaska Aces defenseman William Wrenn, who the Aces loaned to Worcester earlier this week.
