Wrenn makes AHL debut (plus, notes)

Published: January 16, 2013

Erstwhile Alaska Aces defenseman William Wrenn, loaned to AHL Worcester earlier this week, tonight made his debut in the league one notch below the NHL.

Wrenn, 21, earned an even rating in a 3-2 shootout loss to visiting Hersey.

Wrenn is one of three Aces blueliners currently up in the AHL.

Kane Lafranchise's first taste of the league has seen him play in five games for the Oklahoma City Barons -- he's a combined -6.

And Corey Syvret has played two games for the Toronto Marlies, logging an even rating.

Speaking of Aces, here's what's up with a former Ace. Chris Minard, who helped the Aces to the 2006 Kelly Cup and later played 40 games in the NHL, as re-upped for two more seasons with Kolner Haie in the German Elite League. In 33 games this season, Minard has generated 18-11-29 totals, which ties him for fifth in the league in goals.
