As a subscriber to ADN for pretty much of 38 years, and being laid up for the last half of 2012, reading almost every item brought my attention to the movies being shown in the Anchorage theaters on Jan. 11-13. Even the PG listings would never have made the theaters when I was in school in the 30s, 40s, 50s and sometimes later. Would all these violent movies have an effect on young people in Anchorage or my towns of Kenai and Soldotna?
In my world, Hollywood has turned into a sponsor of violent and porn-type movies. Yet they have a humongous hold on our government. When this is all the theaters are showing, there may be the reason for us to not patronize them as older people.
