Posted on January 19, 2013

UAF is off to a blistering start to the second half -- tonight, the Nanooks won 2-1 at Notre Dame to register a CCHA sweep and give them four straight road wins to start the second half.

Nik Yaremchuk and Tyler Morley scored 35 seconds apart on a major power play in the first period to furnish UAF's goals. John Keeney made 19 saves and Notre Dame's Steve Summerhays of Anchorage stopped 15 shots.

Jarret Granberg assisted on both goals to wrap a five-point (2-3--5) weekend.

The Nanooks (10-8-4, 8-7-3 CCHA) now own a five-game unbeaten streak (4-0-1) heading into next weekend's home series against Northern Michigan.
