Man, Joey Crabb's new club, the Washington Capitals, is off to a shaky start -- they fell to 0-3-0 after tonight's 4-1 loss to visiting Montreal -- but the winger from Anchorage got into the goal column in his second game for the team.
Crabb scored his club's only goal tonight, when he also had two shots on goal, two blocked shots and an even rating in 12:13 of ice time, which is twice as much ice as he got in his Caps debut. (UPDATE: Just watched Crabb's goal, which came late in the game. Very muted celebration -- hardly raised his stick -- which is to be expected for a team that is winless. Almost forgot -- one of the assists on Crabb's goal went to former Seawolves center Jay Beagle, who posted his first point of the season).
Oh, Crabb's the first of the five Alaskans in the NHL to score a goal this season. Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage is also playing tonight, for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Dubinsky, who like Crabb played for the Alaska Aces during the lockout, is searching for his first point of the season and playing in his fourth game of the campaign.
