Aces: Nunn activated (plus, ECHL notes)

Published: January 25, 2013

Alaska Aces winger Garry Nunn, who has missed the last five games with a bruised foot suffered when he was hit by teammate Sean Curry's slap shot, has been activated by the club, and coach Rob Murray said Nunn will be in the lineup tonight against visiting San Francisco.

Also, the Aces suspended fill-in defenseman Brad Gorham, but that's just a smart paperwork deal -- it allows the Aces to keep any other team from plucking his ECHL rights and also clears some roster space. As he has shown, Gorham, the former Seawolves blueliner who is an engineer for BP, is a very handy guy to have around town in a pinch.

In other ECHL news, Colorado has picked up former Aces defenseman Ryan Turek, who was waived by South Carolina. And speaking of South Carolina, it loaned winger Hunter Bishop of Fairbanks, the team's leading goal scorer  and co-leading point producer (16-18--34 in 38 games), to AHL Rochester.
