Recap: Chicago vs. Golden State

Published: January 25, 2013

Kirk Hinrich scored 11 of his game-high 25 points during a dominating opening quarter as the Chicago Bulls ran past the Golden State Warriors, 103-87, at United Center.

Nate Robinson went 10-of-16 from the field to record 22 points for the Bulls, who have won three in a row and six of their last seven games. Jimmy Butler, Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah all posted double-doubles in the victory.

Butler had 16 points and a career-high 12 rebounds, Boozer compiled 15 points and 13 boards, and Noah had 14 points and 16 rebounds. That was part of a 56-37 advantage on the glass for Chicago.

"We have to keep grinding, take it one game at a time," Noah said. "We have to keep our mind set on improvement. We feel our best basketball is yet to come, when our horses comes back."

Noah was referring to Derrick Rose (left knee surgery) and Luol Deng (strained right hamstring).

In addition, Hinrich went 6-of-7 from 3-point range.

David Lee totaled 23 points and Stephen Curry scored 21 for Golden State, which had a three-game winning streak broken.

"We were a step slow and they were more physical," Curry said.

The Warriors shot 5-of-22 from the floor in the opening 12 minutes and were outscored 31-13 for the frame. Boozer's pull-up jumper widened the early gap to 12-2, and the Bulls scored 11 in a row later on to extend the lead. Noah's tip-in off a Boozer missed layup created a 25-9 margin.

Golden State, which was coming off a shocking home win over Oklahoma City on Wednesday, was behind by as many as 26 in the second quarter, but was able to cut that deficit in half by the break thanks in part to Lee's 17 points in the period. That helped bring the score to 63-50 at the half.

The difference was 84-66 going to the fourth quarter, and the Bulls led by double digits for the entire final 12 minutes.
