In response to some of my radical left-leaning “Soothsayers” such as Elise with her “gun-totin’ teachers” article:

Allowing volunteer retired policemen and security personnel to patrol schools is hardly the same as putting her inept schoolteachers in the role of sharpshooters.

Secondly, I assume many of the teachers have a higher IQ than Elise gives them credit for. They may have even pursued athletic programs in college and I would venture some may (God forbid) have guns and shoot recreationally. Therefore, allowing them to complete a defense course and volunteering if they wish to carry in school would be a far greater deterrent for a deranged shooter than a teacher standing in front of her students and praying the police arrive before another tragic event.
