I see our U.S. Senators are pushing (again) for more federal money to be paid to “victims” of a poor fish return last year. I hate to tell the fishermen, but the federal (and state) government should not be taking money from all of us, to act as an insurance adjuster to compensate you during downturns in your chosen line of work.

I wonder, should the Pebble mine eventually be permitted, will our legislators at any level go crying for “disaster relief” if there just doesn’t turn out to be minerals where the miners look?
