Valley Mover adds two new Wasilla-Anchorage runs

Anchorage Daily News / adn.comJanuary 30, 2013

Valley Mover, which provides bus service between the Mat-Su Borough and Anchorage, has added two more runs to its current schedule of 12 trips a day.

Starting Thursday, a new morning run will leave Trunk Road and the Parks Highway at 5:55 a.m. and arrive in Anchorage at 6:45 a.m. An additional afternoon run will leave Anchorage at 5:110 p.m., arriving at Trunk Road at 6 p.m. and the Wasilla Fred Meyer at 6:15 p.m.

While Valley Mover service is Monday-Friday, the new trips will run Monday-Thursday because Friday ridership is not as high as on other days, said Executive Director Robbie Wuitschick. But many buses are at capacity. "The morning run is standing room only," she said.

Wuitschick said the Valley Mover carries about 400 passengers each weekday. It does not operate on weekends.
