Anchorage, AK — As the 10th season of Bravo's "Top Chef" winds its way to the finale, the remaining contestants boarded a cruise ship bound for Alaska in last week's episode. The final five chefs had to reinterpret a surf and turf dish on the way, resulting in the field being narrowed to four.
This season of the series is based primarily in Seattle, with 21 initial contestants competing in a number of cooking challenges in the hopes of earning the distinction of Top Chef. The winner gets $125,000, a feature in Food and Wine magazine and a showcase at a food and wine event in Aspen, Colo.
The crew filmed two episodes in Juneau in August, which are set to air Wednesday and Feb. 13. The chefs were challenged to prepare meals with king crab, salmon and sourdough, and you might recognize a few of the locations where filming took place: Tracy's Crab Shack, Gold Creek Salmon Bake, Mendenhall Glacier, Jorgenson House and the Alaska Governor's Mansion, where the contestants prepared a dinner for Gov. Sean Parnell and wife Sandy.
The episodes air 9 p.m. on channel 83.
