Aces defenseman Lafranchise headed back to AHL (UPDATED)

Posted on February 4, 2013

Good news didn't last long for the Alaska Aces: Defenseman Kane Lafranchise's return to the ECHL club lasted all of two games before he was summoned back to the AHL.

The Aces have loaned Lafranchise to Houston of the AHL, which entertains San Antonio tonight. (UPDATED: Lafranchise is in the lineup for the Aeros).

Lafranchise spent January with AHL Oklahoma City in his first duty in the league on notch below the NHL. He played nine games for the Barons, and while his stat line wasn't great -- no points, a -10 rating -- he at least got his first taste of the AHL, and plenty of teams up there got to see him.

Lafranchise in 32 games with the Aces is their highest-scoring defenseman with 4-19--23 totals and a +5 rating.
