On UAA: Call the Seawolves Team Tie

Posted on February 4, 2013

Hey, it's probably been pointed out enough that the UAA Seawolves are riding a 14-game winless steak (0-11-3) that is the fourth-longest in the program's 34-season history.

But we would be remiss if we failed to point out the Seawolves also own a two-game unbeaten streak (0-0-2) after a pair of ties with visiting Colorado College over the weekend -- the teams deadlocked 2-2 Friday and 3-3 Saturday, with UAA notching the game-tying markers late in the third period both nights.

In any event, UAA's seven ties, well, tie it with Clarkson for the most in all of college hockey, and leaves the Seawolves just one tie short of tying the program record of eight (2007-08), and that's with a minimum of 10 games remaining this season.

Those two ties on the weekend marked the fifth time in program history the Seawolves have played to a tie in both games of a weekend set. They've done it four times at home now, and once on the road. They've done it at Michigan Tech and at home against Michigan Tech, at home with St. Cloud State, at home with Wisconsin and at home with CC.

Here's a weird note about those 10 ties referenced above -- all 10 came between Jan. 10 and Feb. 2. No, we have no idea what that means, so probably nothing. Just saying -- odd.

Seven times in UAA history -- and that's more than 1,150 games -- UAA has tied in consecutive games.
