Casting call: Reality show looks for single women to send to Miami

— Any single ladies interested in spending breakup on a sandy beach? Local company Affinityfilms has been tapped to cast a group of girlfriends from Alaska to spend about five weeks in Miami looking for romance.

The reality series doesn’t have a title and casting assistant Greta Artman said over the phone that she couldn’t reveal which network will air the show, but the goal is to contrast the southern Florida tropics with the unique backgrounds of Alaskans.<

"The idea is that they want to take four to six attractive young women who have been ideally born and raised here and haven’t traveled Outside very much," Artman explained.

She described the show as a "Sex and the City"-style series that follows a group of girlfriends on vacation. "We’ve been promised this is a good spirited one,” Artman said. “They’re going to be rooting for each."

Filming takes place late April and May, with cast members compensated for lost work. The pre-screening process is under way, with a casting call out to groups of single women ages 21-35. Anyone interested can email miamirealitytv@gmail.com. Potential vacationers will be asked to send a bio paragraph and a photo. Casting sessions will take place in Anchorage, Soldotna and the Valley.
