Arts scene: 'Arctic Flight,' Vic Fischer, 'Wicked Divas,' Momentum Dance Collective

Alaska skylore

Jeremy Kinney, with the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, will speak 2 p.m. Saturday at the Anchorage Museum, 625 C St. Kinney is also the co-curator of the new museum exhibit "Arctic Flight: A Century in Alaska Aviation." Admission to the museum will be free on Sunday, thanks to Wells Fargo, and cultural activities and performance commemorating African American History Month will take place. 

Literature

Two authors have presentations on Monday. Vic Fischer, a globe-trotter long before he came to Alaska to help write the state constitution, will discuss his memoir, "To Russia With Love," from 5 to 7 p.m. at the UAA Campus Bookstore. Cinthia Ritchie will talk about "How to Find the Time to Finish Your Book" at a 49 Writers reading and craft talk at 7 p.m. at the Great Harvest Bread Company on Benson. Ritchie's novel, "Dolls Behaving Badly," hit the shelves Tuesday of this week.

Casting their spells

Julia Murney and Emily Rozek, who have starred as dueling sorceresses Elphaba and Gilda in "Wicked" on Broadway, will perform tunes from the hit musical with the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra 8 p.m. Saturday in Atwood Concert Hall. The stage veterans will also sing songs from other popular musical theater works. Tickets for "Wicked Divas" are available at centertix.net.

Flashback five years

Momentum Dance Collective celebrates five seasons revisiting some of the group's favorite works and presenting a new collaboration by 18 dancers as directed by Becky Kendell. "Retrospect" will have a single performance at 8 p.m. Friday in Sydney Laurence Theatre.
