Ptarmigan Elementary School hosted students in the Anchorage School District's gifted education program for a variety of fun and educational activities on Saturday, February 9, 2013. The "Super Saturday" program focused on providing enrichment and motivation for students in economically disadvantaged areas of the city. About 150 students chose from 16 activities such as making rockets, Yupik masks, healthy snacks and sticky goo. About 30 teachers from across the district volunteered to run the program.
