Former Alaska Aces goaltender James Reid, one of the good guys and recently traded to ECHL Orlando, tonight finally saw his first action since very early in the season -- he missed a ton of time with a high ankle sprain -- and it did not go well.
Reid started against Florida, but gave up three goals on 12 shots in the first 15+ minutes -- he gave up the first one 14 seconds in -- and got the hook in favor of Patrick Killeen, who proceeded to throw some gas on the fire. Killeen gave up three quick ones -- all six of those strikes came at even strength in the first period -- and Florida cruised to a 7-3 win.
Former Aces winger Matt Robinson, who headed back to the CHL a bit ago, had one goal and one assist for Wichita tonight in a 5-3 win over Allen. He had the game winner. After scoring just one point, a goal, in his first four games back with Wichita, Robinson owns a seven-game point streak in which he has delivered 6-7--13 totals.
In the ECHL, former UAA Seawolves winger Josh Lunden bagged a Gordie Howe hat trick for the Las Vegas Wranglers with a fight, the game-tying goal and an assist on Channing Boe's game winner in the first minute of overtime for a 4-3 win over league-leading Ontario.
