Former NHL goalie Ty Conklin of Anchorage is trying his hand at coaching

Props to AKhockey.com, which alerted us to a story in the Peoria Journal Star about former NHL goaltender Ty Conklin of Anchorage -- still the only Alaska boy to tend goal in the world's greatest league -- trying his hand at coaching with AHL Peoria, former affiliate of the Alaska Aces.

Anyhow, writer Dave Eminian, who in the time it took to type his name probably forgot more about hockey than The Blog has ever known, has the story on Conklin, and you can check it out by clicking here.
